Breaking (Eventually): The Farmington Police Logs, Nov 1 – Nov 12, 2024

Farmington, CT — Greetings, dedicated followers of Farmington’s finest scandal sheet! Once again, The Farmington Mercury brings you the scoop on recent arrests, proving there’s never a dull moment in the “Land of Steady Habits.” Remember, as good citizens, it’s innocent until proven guilty—even if a few “overzealous shoppers” made that a tall order. Let’s dive into the drama. 🎉

November 2, 2024 — DUI on Farmington Ave 🚗🍸

Suspect: Juan C. Jacinto

  • Age: 37
  • From: Hartford, CT
  • Arrested at 12:46 AM, Farmington Ave
  • Charges:
    • Failure to Renew Registration
    • Driving Under the Influence (Nonsurety bond: $2,500)
    • Drinking While Driving

Nothing says “Farmington nightlife” quite like a DUI at midnight. Mr. Jacinto enjoyed a late-night jaunt down Farmington Ave—perhaps thinking he was off the radar. Turns out, not so much! He’ll revisit this tale in court on November 13th.

November 8, 2024 — Double Dose of Larceny on New Britain Ave 🛍💰

Suspect: Miriam Judith Rodriguez

  • From: East Hartford, CT
  • Arrested at: 9:35 PM and 9:55 PM, New Britain Ave
  • Charges:
    • Larceny, 3rd Degree (Surety bond: $20,000)
    • Conspiracy to Commit Larceny, 3rd Degree
    • Larceny, 4th Degree

Ms. Rodriguez went for a shopping spree that took her to two arrests in under 30 minutes. Now that’s commitment! And it came with a third-degree larceny charge, for those following at home. Tune in for her court appearance on November 19th—maybe this time, she’ll shop online.

November 9, 2024 — Shoplifting Gone Awry on South Rd 🚔

    • Larceny, 6th Degree (Nonsurety bond: $10,000)
    • Interfering with an Officer
    • Possession of Controlled Substance, 1st Offense

With what we can only assume was a miscalculated “shopping trip,” Ms. Pennington now faces a trifecta of charges: shoplifting, resisting arrest, and controlled substance possession. For better or worse, she’ll also be due in court on November 19th.

November 11, 2024 — Trespassing on South Rd 🚶‍♀️🚫

On a Monday afternoon, Ms. Torres apparently decided to take in the scenic sights of someone else’s property on South Rd. Why, you ask? Let’s just say it’s Farmington, where we keep our mysteries close and our court dates closer. Mark November 20th for the grand finale.

Special Thanks to Our Sponsor 🙏

A huge shoutout to our beloved sponsor, Farmington Storage. You know, the only facility in Connecticut with museum-grade air. Because, as we all know, your grandma’s old VHS tapes and that synthetic Christmas tree deserve better than “just regular air.” Head over to 155 Scott Swamp Road or give them a buzz at 860.777.4001. Tell them The Mercury sent you. 🎩
