Missy DiNunno, executive director of the Simsbury Meadows Performing Arts Center, has been named the Children’s Museum Group executive director based in West Hartford. She will assume the role on July 15, 2024. DiNunno brings over two decades of experience in arts and nonprofit management, including past leadership positions at The Bushnell and Hartford Symphony Orchestra.
DiNunno sees this new role as a way to positively impact youth. She aims to address the museum’s challenges, including finding a permanent home. The museum is at Emanuel Synagogue, 180 Mohegan Drive, West Hartford.
“We’re excited to innovate beyond our walls and build the brand within the community,” DiNunno stated. She also emphasized the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion, which were priorities during her tenure at Simsbury Meadows.
The Children’s Museum Group is preparing for its 100th anniversary in 2027, adding significance to DiNunno’s new role. Current Executive Director Michael Werle will remain consulting to assist with the organization’s development.
