Farmington Arrest: Shoplifting, Trespass, & a $5K Bond

FARMINGTON, CT — Police report a single arrest between August 27, 2025, 07:00 and August 28, 2025, 07:00, which, if we’re being honest, is both underwhelming and impressive for a town that still thinks jaywalking is a felony.

The Accused

  • Name: Esmeralda Jimenez
  • Age: 27
  • Address: 138 Columbus Circle, Apt. B2, East Hartford, CT 06108
  • Arrest Date & Time: August 27, 2025, 11:50 a.m.
  • Arrest Location: 500 South Road, Farmington (yes, that South Road—you know the one)
  • Arresting Officer: Aparo, Daniel R.
  • Incident Number: 2500013938
  • Court Date: September 2, 2025

The Charges

  • Criminal Trespass 1st Degree (53a-107): Because apparently, “just browsing” doesn’t cover it.
  • Larceny 6th Degree (53a-125b): Connecticut’s legal way of saying “shoplifting, but in lowercase.”

Bond was set at $5,000 nonsurety, but Jimenez managed to post bond faster than a Farmington resident pretends they don’t see their neighbor at Stop & Shop.

Remarks

Police note the arrest stemmed from a shoplifting incident. Details were not provided about the items in question, but let’s assume it was not the Dead Sea Scrolls or a Rembrandt.

⚖️ Important Reminder: All individuals are innocent until proven guilty, even if the arrest log makes them sound like the villain in a low-budget Hallmark mystery.
