Farmington High School Construction Update: Major Milestones Reached!

The Farmington High School construction project took another big step forward as the school board approved a $316,231.25 payment to contractor Iapaluccio during a special meeting on December 18, 2024. This ensures work continues smoothly heading into the new year.

Key Milestones Reached

The project’s progress so far includes:

  • Parking Lot Upgrades: Boxing and binder work complete.
  • Drainage Improvements: Approximately 40% of the work is finished, preventing future flooding.
  • Granite Curbing & Sewer Lines: One-third and one-quarter complete, respectively.
  • Electrical Conduits: Installed and on track.

Project managers noted the seamless collaboration between the high school’s teams and Iapaluccio’s crews. “It’s been a smooth operation, with real synergy across both sites,” said Ross, one of the leads.

Why the Special Meeting?

With the holidays approaching, the board acted swiftly to approve payment for work completed between October and November. Without this meeting, the payment would have been delayed until late January, potentially slowing progress.

What’s Next?

The revamped parking lot, enhanced drainage, and modernized infrastructure are just a glimpse of what’s to come. Expect continued updates in early 2024 as the project advances toward completion.
