The Shoplifting Spree on South Road

First up, we have the daring escapades of two gentlemen from Hartford, Richard E. Bianchi, and Ramone Ricardo Reid. These two decided to test their luck at the 500 block of South Road and found themselves facing the long arm of the law on July 22nd.

Richard E. Bianchi, a 35-year-old Hartford resident, was nabbed by Officer McLeod for a series of charges including:

  • Larceny 6th Degree
  • Conspiracy to Commit Larceny 6th Degree
  • Illegal Possession of a Shoplifting Device

Not to be outdone, Ramone Ricardo Reid, 29, also from Hartford, found himself in hot water with additional charges of:

  • Larceny 6th Degree
  • Conspiracy to Commit Larceny 6th Degree
  • Illegal Possession of a Shoplifting Device
  • Interfering with an Officer/Resisting

Both individuals, clearly not deterred by their shopping list of charges, posted bond and are set for a court appearance on July 31st. Reid, however, added another feather to his cap with a violation of probation charge, for which he posted a $15,000 cash bond.

A DUI and Drug Paraphernalia Discovery on Farmington Ave

In a separate incident, Scott C. Weidt, a 50-year-old from West Hartford, was arrested on July 19th by Officer Daniel J. Taylor. Mr. Weidt was caught under the influence, making our usually peaceful Farmington Ave his racetrack. His charges included:

  • Use of Drug Paraphernalia
  • Illegal Operation of a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of Alcohol/Drugs

Weidt, demonstrating an admirable level of cooperation, posted a $1,500 non-surety bond and is due in court on July 31st.
