Farmington, CT — The Farmington Board of Education and Superintendent Greider have announced the retirement of Mrs. Kimberly Wynne, the esteemed Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum, Instruction, and Human Resources for the Farmington Public Schools. Effective December 2024, this marks the conclusion of an illustrious career spanning 40 years of dedicated service to the school district.

Mrs. Wynne’s tenure at Farmington Public Schools began in 1984, and since then, she has been a cornerstone of the district’s educational leadership. Her roles have evolved from teaching kindergarten at West District School to serving as the Assistant Superintendent, a position she has held since 2012. Throughout her career, she has been recognized for her unwavering commitment to Farmington’s children, families, faculty, and staff.

Under her leadership, Farmington’s curriculum and instructional methods have flourished. Mrs. Wynne has fostered a student-centered approach, marked by high expectations and a deep understanding of educational practices. She began as a kindergarten teacher and went on to teach sixth and eighth grades, served as the Language Arts Resource Teacher, and was named Farmington’s Teacher of the Year in 1999-2000. Her leadership positions included Thinking Skills Coordinator, Director of Literacy, and Director of Curriculum before she became Assistant Superintendent in 2012. Mrs. Wynne holds a Master’s Degree from Harvard Graduate School of Education and a Bachelor’s Degree in English from Vassar College.
