J.Crew Factory Offers Apparel for All Ages

Confirmed: J.Crew Factory opens this fall at The Shops at Farmington Valley. Everything you need to know.

CANTON, CT — J.Crew Factory, the outlet retail concept and value-driven sister brand to J.Crew, will open a new store at The Shops at Farmington Valley later this year. The store is scheduled to launch in fall 2025 and will occupy Suite 613, located between FP Movement and Chicos.

The opening marks the return of the J.Crew brand to Canton and reflects a strategic expansion by both the retailer and the center. J.Crew Factory offers collections for men, women, and children, featuring the label’s signature American style with a focus on affordability, quality, and versatility. The assortment includes polished office-ready pieces as well as relaxed weekend essentials.

The Shops at Farmington Valley—an open-air lifestyle center located just off Route 44 near the Avon and Simsbury town lines—has become a regional destination for retail, dining, and community events. Its tenant roster has expanded significantly over the past two years, with recent additions including Sur La Table, Warby Parker, Sweetgreen, and FP Movement, the activewear brand under Urban Outfitters, which is slated to open its first Connecticut store at the center this May.

Sweetgreen, Warby Parker, FP Movement Among Recent Additions

“We are thrilled to welcome the iconic J.Crew brand back to The Shops at Farmington Valley,” said Elizabeth Ackerman, General Manager of the center. “This opening will be another exciting addition to our continually evolving retailer lineup, and we know it will resonate with our shoppers who seek a blend of timeless style and fashion for the whole family.”

The announcement aligns the brand’s arrival with broader developments in the retail sector. According to the official statement, “the arrival of J.Crew Factory reflects a larger trend in retail, where national brands are increasingly opting for physical stores to connect more directly with customers and boost brand retention and loyalty through authentic in-person interactions.”

New Entrances, Renovated Gathering Spaces Part of Retail Center Strategy

As part of its broader strategy to enhance shopper experience, The Shops has also invested in capital improvements over the last two years. A new entrance and exit at Secret Lake Road and Route 44 has improved traffic flow, while the redesign of Lowell Court introduced updated outdoor furnishings and gathering space for visitors.

“We are committed to enhancing the variety of brands at The Shops,” Ackerman said. “The addition of J.Crew Factory, alongside our other national retailers and beloved boutique brands, showcases how we’re meeting the needs of our customers and ensuring The Shops remains a premier destination for shopping, dining, and entertainment.”

The Shops at Farmington Valley features more than 45 specialty stores, restaurants, and service providers. Tenants include Barnes & Noble, Sephora, Mercato Italian Kitchen & Bar, Woofgang Bakery & Grooming, ShopRite, Pure Barre, Anastasio Home, and Dick’s Sporting Goods.
