Jeffrey Russell Appointed Assistant Principal at Farmington High School
The Farmington Board of Education and Superintendent Kathleen Greider have announced Jeffrey Russell’s appointment as the new Assistant Principal of Farmington High School, effective July 1, 2024. Mr. Russell joins the Farmington Public Schools with a distinguished background in curriculum development, instructional coaching, and school operations from his tenure at E. O. Smith High School.
Mr. Russell is renowned for his dedication to fostering an inclusive school environment and aligning with Farmington’s Vision of the Global Citizen, which emphasizes global awareness, collaboration, and lifelong learning. His commitment to relationship building and educational excellence is expected to benefit the students and staff at Farmington High School greatly.
“Throughout the search process, Mr. Russell consistently demonstrated a profound knowledge of and dedication to student-centered learning, in harmony with our Vision of the Global Citizen,” said Superintendent Greider. “His focus on continuous improvement in teaching, learning, achievement, and student well-being will enhance the innovative initiatives already in place at Farmington High School. About Jeffrey Russell
Jeffrey Russell earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Math Education and a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Connecticut in 2013. In 2024, he completed his Sixth-Year Diploma in Educational Administration from the same institution. At E. O. Smith High School, Mr. Russell has been instrumental in leading professional development on equity and student-centered instructional practices. He developed a new teacher induction program and has been a Mathematics Teacher at E. O. Smith since 2013.
